The 90S is a core alignment fusion splicer that provides high-precision core-to-core alignment with advanced image processing to deliver consistent low-loss splices. It includes ergonomic improvements and automated elements (wind protector and heater) to reduce overall splice process time. The 90S supports universal sheath clamps (250 µm and 900 µm loose tube), fiber retention clamps, an improved carry case/workstation, tool-less replaceable electrodes, and a high-capacity lithium-ion battery; it can be used for a wide range of field splicing applications including bend-insensitive fibers, long-haul terrestrial and submarine fibers, loose buffer fiber, and splice-on connectors.
