SoloShot™ Extra-High Strength (EHS) copper-clad steel (CCS) tracer wire is engineered for horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and other bores where the surface cannot be disturbed. The 1045*-EHS product uses a #10 AWG hard-drawn, high-carbon 1055-grade steel core with metallurgically bonded copper cladding to provide high locate conductivity and exceptional tensile strength. Insulated with 45 mil virgin HDPE, the wire is rated for direct burial and 600 V insulation, and is color-coded to meet APWA utility identification standards. Typical applications include directional drilling, HDD bores beneath roads and sidewalks, and other installations requiring a high-strength tracer wire to minimize costly re-bores and wire failures.
