The five‑terminal cast iron lid variant (LD14*5T) uses internal jumpers to manage tracer and ground connections (lid must be removed to access terminals). The system includes an encapsulated magnet for easy detection with ferrous detectors, anti‑corrosion gel to protect wire connections, and a locking pentagon bolt to prevent tampering. Lids are APWA color‑coded (N = Orange for LD14N5T).
