Simplex and Zipcord cable assemblies (AFL FR1 fiber rings) are compact launch/receive cables used with OTDRs to measure insertion loss and reflectance of near-end and far-end connections. Assemblies are available in common connector styles (SC, FC, ST, LC), cordage diameters (3.0 mm, 2.0 mm, 1.6 mm, 900 m), and with riser/plenum/LSZH compounds. Single-mode assemblies use ITU G.652.D / G.657.A1 fiber. 150 m rings (492 ft) are intended for premises fiber network OTDR test applications.
