Slotted, angled flanges let the guard expand and contract with temperature swings without splitting, and the ribbed profile resists impact from equipment and vehicles at the base of the pole. Its narrow width makes it a fit for single-cable risers where the wider 4 in or 6 in guards would be oversized.
